How To

Window and desktop integration

Use the title bar's window menu, keep the pad on top or move it between monitors, and switch to a native title bar on Linux.

WebF1 Pad draws its own title bar so a note gets more of the window, but the usual window actions are still one click away, and on Linux you can hand the title bar back to the desktop when you want its full window menu.

The window menu

Right-click the title bar for the app’s own window menu:

  • Hide - minimize the window.
  • Maximize / Unmaximize - toggle full size.
  • Always on Visible Workspace (Linux) - keep the pad on whatever workspace you switch to.
  • Always on Top - keep the pad above other windows.
  • Move to Next Monitor - send the window to the next display.
  • Close - close the window (your work is preserved and restored on the next launch).

Native title bar (Linux)

On Wayland the desktop’s own window actions (Always on Top, Always on Visible Workspace) are not available to a custom frameless title bar. Settings → Window → Show the system title bar adds the desktop’s native title bar on top, and right-clicking it (or pressing Alt+Space) opens the desktop’s real window menu.

  • Toggle it from the View menu or with Ctrl+Shift+T.
  • The tab strip and toolbar stay; the in-app minimize / maximize / close buttons hide while it is on.
  • It applies immediately and is remembered.

Window memory

WebF1 Pad restores the window position and size along with your tabs and chats, so a relaunch lands where you left it. See Getting started for the rest of what is restored.
