Use the built-in generators
Create UUIDs, passwords, memorable passphrases and usernames from the desktop Tools menu.
The desktop Tools menu includes several small utilities for values you may need while writing or working. They run inside WebF1 Pad, so you do not have to interrupt your notes to open another app.
Create UUIDs
- Choose Tools → Create UUIDs.
- Pick how many version 4 UUIDs you need, from 1 to 100.
- Optionally use uppercase letters or wrap each value in braces.
- Copy one UUID or use Copy all.
Generate a password
- Choose Tools → Generate Passwords, then open the Password tab.
- Choose the length and the character groups to include.
- Optionally require a minimum number of digits or special characters and avoid characters that are easy to confuse.
- Use the copy button beside the generated value.
Create a passphrase or username
- The Passphrase tab joins words from the EFF Diceware list. Choose the number of words, separator, capitalization and whether to include a number.
- The Username tab creates one- or two-word names, with optional capitalization and a number.
Recent results
The dialog keeps the ten most recent results of each type during the current app session. You can load or copy one again, or clear the list. This history is not saved when the app closes.
The native Tools menu is available in the Linux and Windows desktop builds. It is not shown in the Android interface.
